🌳 RV Parks: NAS Key West Sigsbee RV Park

Updated: Jul 26, 2023

NAS Key West Sigsbee Island Military RV Park is a great place to camp if you're looking for a relaxing and affordable vacation in the Florida Keys. The park is located on Sigsbee Island, just off the coast of Key West, and offers a variety of amenities to make your stay comfortable.

There are 93 full hook-up sites and over 400 dry camping areas at the park. All sites have access to water, electricity, and sewer, and many of the full hook-up sites also have cable TV and Wi-Fi. The park also has a laundry facility, a dump station, and a playground. The Navy Exchange and Commissary are very nearby, as well.

In addition to the amenities, the park is also located in a beautiful setting. The campground is surrounded by lush vegetation, and there are several hiking trails nearby. You're also just a stroll from the water, so you can enjoy swimming, fishing, and boating.

If you're looking for something to do in the area, there are plenty of options. Key West is a popular tourist destination, and there are many shops, restaurants, and attractions to explore. You can also visit the Naval Air Station Key West, which is home to the National Naval Aviation Museum.

If you're planning on driving an RV to the park, there are a few things you need to know. First, the park is located on a military base, so you'll need to show your military ID or proof of DoD affiliation at the gate. The drive from NAS Key West to Sigsbee Island RV Park is about 10 miles.

Once you arrive at the park, you'll need to check in at the campground office. The office is located at Bldg. V-4113 Arthur Sawyer Drive. You'll need to show your military ID or proof of DoD affiliation, and you'll also need to pay the camping fee.

After you check in, a member of the MWR staff will lead you to your campsite. The campsites are a mix of paved, gravel and grass, and some have full hook-ups, but a majority are boondocking sites only. Dump stations and fresh water stations are located next to the laundry/bathhouse, a very short trip around the block from all sites.

Here are some additional details about the Sigsbee RV Park.

  • Rates: Full hook-up sites start at $36 per night, and dry camping sites start at $26 per night.

  • Reservations: Reservations can be made up to 1 year in advance for active duty and reservists, and 6 months in advance for retired military, eligible veterans, and DoD civilians.

  • Amenities: In addition to the amenities mentioned above, the park also has a swimming pool, a basketball court, and a picnic area.

There are two main routes to the park from US 1.

Small Rigs The first route is only recommended for smaller RVs, Class Bs or small travel trailers. To follow this route, take US 1 South until you reach the intersection with Roosevelt Boulevard. Turn right onto Roosevelt Boulevard and follow it for about 1.2 miles. The Sigsbee Island entrance will be on your right, just past the Ibis Bay Resort. Keep in mind that this right turn is a very sharp, tight turn.

Large Rigs The second route is recommended for larger class A and C RVs, and Fifth Wheels. To follow this route, take US 1 South until you reach the intersection with A1A South. Turn left onto A1A South and go to the first traffic light. Turn right onto Flagler Avenue and follow it for about 1.25 miles. Turn right onto Kennedy Drive and follow it for about 0.4 miles. The Sigsbee Island entrance will be straight ahead crossing Roosevelt Boulevard intersection. Ideal for large rigs.

If you're looking for a great place to camp in the Florida Keys, I highly recommend NAS Key West Sigsbee Island Military RV Park.
